Welcome to the Islington Veterans Association (IVA)

The Islington Veterans' Association is a community organisation that promotes camaraderie and seeks to provide help for veterans and ex-service personal across Islington. Membership is open to all who have served in the Armed Forces, the emergancy services, Merchant Navy & Prison service & their families and anyone associated with the Borough who seeks to further the aims of the Association, whether they have a military background or not.

The Veterans' Association is instrumental in organising the annual Remembrance Day Acts of Remembrance and Parades in Islington, Armed Forces Day and associated events and other occassional commemorations which happen in the Borough and is closely involved with the Borough on issues affecting the welfare of all veterans.

The Association also maintains a strong social calendar with monthly meetings of the Association in Islington Town Hall, The Association organise trips around the country (which have included visits to such places as the National Memorial Arboretum and the Air Force Museum at Hendon), dinners and other social events, and takes part in various Borough events promoting the Association.

Robert King attended Ernie Walsh's Funeral earlier this month and represented the IVA, He was carrying the IVA standard at the request of the Family. RIP Ernie

The Islington Branch of  Armed Forces Breakfast Club has now resumed meetings at St Luke's on the third Friday of each month srtaing at 0900. More infomation to follow. Please ensure you email Petre McCafferty if you are attending so he is aware of numbers for breakfast. peter.mccafferty53@gmail.com
