Welcome to the Islington Veterans Association (IVA)

The Islington Veterans' Association is a community organisation that promotes camaraderie and seeks to provide help for veterans and ex-servicemen across Islington. Membership is open to all who have served in the Armed Forces, the emergancy services, Merchant Navy & Prison service & btheir families and anyone associated with the Borough who seeks to further the aims of the Association, whether they have a military background or not.

The Veterans' Association is instrumental in organising the annual Remembrance Day Acts of Remembrance and Parades in Islington, Armed Forces Day and associated events and other occassional commemorations which happen in the Borough and is closely involved with the Borough on issues affecting the welfare of all veterans.

The Association also maintains a strong social calendar with monthly meetings of the Association in Islington Town Hall, The Association organise trips around the country (which have included visits to such places as the National Memorial Arboretum and the Air Force Museum at Hendon), dinners and other social events, and takes part in various Borough events promoting the Association.

Sadley,due to the current situation regarding the pandemic and the restrictions which are currently in place, the IVA will not be holding a Christmas function in 2020, however, as soon as retsrictions have been lifted the committee with be looking to hold a function for all memebers.

Tracey Tremaine-Sharrocks, a member of the IVA has now finished the virtual challege and have coverd 65 kilometers over that period. She has raised £265 for the Royal British Legion, Poppy Appeal.Tracey would like to thank all who suppoted her and donated.
